While not overwhelming, there are splashes of yellows, reds, and oranges.<\/p>\n<p>These photos were taken about a week ago in the woods behind our house. The woods contain <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Live_oaks\">Live Oaks<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Post_oak\">Post Oaks<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Quercus_marilandica\">Blackjack Oaks<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Shumard_Oak\">Red Oaks<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ulmus_crassifolia\">Cedar Elms<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ashe_juniper\">Ashe Junipers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Live Oaks and Ashe Junipers are green throughout the fall and winter. The Post Oaks usually turn brown, but this year they seem to be redder. The Red Oaks turn yellow and red and the Cedar Elms turn yellow and orange.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-8lcXXUvlqUs\/TvjeeZEQPYI\/AAAAAAAABhI\/xwBfo7TMl3Q\/s1600\/fall_woods_1.jpg\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"400\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-8lcXXUvlqUs\/TvjeeZEQPYI\/AAAAAAAABhI\/xwBfo7TMl3Q\/s400\/fall_woods_1.jpg\" width=\"266\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>You can see that there&#8217;s quite a bit of leaf litter on the ground already.
